Working Genius Facilitator & Consultant
A team assessment is only as good as what you do with it.
Plenty of teams take the Working Genius assessment.
Far fewer ever get past the results page. As a certified facilitator and consultant, I help teams turn six types of genius into role clarity, better collaboration, and fewer stalled projects, not just an interesting personality report.
What Working Genius actually measures
Working Genius, developed by Patrick Lencioni, maps six types of contribution across any workflow: Wonder, Invention, Discernment, Galvanizing, Enablement, and Tenacity.
Every person carries two geniuses (energizing), two competencies (fine, but draining over time), and two frustrations (avoid these if you can).
Teams stall in predictable places, usually right where a genius is missing from the group entirely, or where someone's frustration has been quietly doing that job for years.
Worth knowingThree geniuses are responsive (Wonder, Discernment, Enablement), the reflective, in-the-moment types. Three are disruptive (Invention, Galvanizing, Tenacity), the ones that push work forward and create change. Most teams lean heavily toward one side without realizing it, which is exactly the kind of pattern a facilitated debrief is built to surface.
The six types, briefly
A clarified map of where someone's energy naturally goes at each stage of getting work done.
ResponsiveWONDER
Asks "what if" and spots the opportunity or problem before anyone else names it.
DisruptiveGALVANIZING
Rallies the group and gets people genuinely bought in and moving.
DisruptiveINVENTION
Generates the new idea or creative solution once the opportunity is named.
ResponsiveENABLEMENT
Supports and unblocks others so the work keeps moving forward.
ResponsiveDISCERNMENT
Brings judgment and intuition to evaluate which ideas are actually worth pursuing.
DisruptiveTENACITY
Pushes through to the finish line and gets the thing actually done.
Your FacilitatorDr. Bethany Peters, Ph.D., PCC
Certified in Working Genius alongside CliftonStrengths, the Enneagram, EQi 2.0, and MBTI, Bethany has spent over 20 years studying what makes teams effective and translating that research into facilitated, practical sessions rather than one-off training.
She's led Working Genius engagements for organizations including Washington University in St. Louis and corporate teams across industries, often layering it with other frameworks through her signature Strengths by Design approach.
Facilitator, consultant, or coach?
Three ways to engage my Working Genius expertise.
As your facilitator
I run the live session: administering the assessment, walking your team through what their results mean in plain language, and guiding the conversation about where geniuses overlap, where they're missing, and where frustrations have been covering for a missing genius.
Best for a single workshop, an offsite segment, or a team that's never been properly debriefed.
As your consultant
I work with leadership on the follow-through: applying the framework to decisions, restructuring roles, redesigning how work moves through the team, and coaching managers on delegating according to genius rather than convenience.
Best for organizations making structural changes, not just running a one-time session.
As your coach
I work with leaders turning genius into how they actually operate. With individuals, that means leaning into the work that energizes them. With teams, it means naming the genius and the gaps on the team map, building the shared language that keeps collaboration from breaking down.
Best for leaders and teams who want the assessment to change how they work, not just explain it.
From teams who’ve done the work
“Working with Bethany is an absolute delight. We only receive positive feedback from associates about Bethany, praise such as, ‘Dr. Peters is incredible and I’d love to talk to her again! ‘ She customized her approach to each person and, if it was appropriate, sent specific resources to further support their intercultural competence learning journey. Bethany is organized and proactive. From my perspective as project manager those skills are invaluable. 5 out of 5 stars. I wholeheartedly recommend Bethany. ”
—Lindsay Karson, learning & development manager“Bethany is an expert facilitator who knows how to create the conditions for deeper growth. She guided our group with a powerful structured approach but also with thoughtful skill and care, surfacing things I couldn’t see on my own and helping me translate those insights into stronger, more intentional leadership. Bethany has a true gift for group facilitation, and the leaders around her are better for it.”
—Stacey Bellward, marketing director“Bethany created a transformative learning experience for our team. Through both individual and group coaching sessions, she fostered meaningful reflection, growth, and practical strategies for enhancing our teaching and leadership. Her ability to create a safe and engaging space for dialogue empowered faculty to deepen their understanding and apply it directly to their work.”

A facilitator administers the assessment, then leads a live session helping your team interpret results together, spot patterns across the group, and connect the framework to real projects and friction points, rather than leaving everyone to read their report alone.

A facilitator leads the live team session and debrief. A consultant goes further, applying the framework to hiring, role design, and how work is structured across the organization on an ongoing basis.
