Teams are messy. And complicated.
Different personalities.
Different strengths.
Different expectations.
Different ways of communicating, making decisions, handling conflict, and getting work done.
Add shifting priorities, unclear roles, organizational pressure, or one particularly challenging team dynamic, and even experienced leaders can find themselves wondering:
What is actually going on here—and what do I do about it?
The problem is that team challenges rarely have neat, linear solutions.
A communication strategy that works beautifully with one team falls flat with another.
A new meeting structure might solve one problem while leaving the underlying dynamic untouched.
And sometimes what looks like a performance problem is actually a role, relationship, trust, workload, or expectations problem.
Better teamwork starts with getting clearer about the challenge in front of you.

Through focused coaching questions and perspective from the group, we'll slow it down, look at what's really happening, and identify where you have leverage to move things forward.

Who this is for:
This Coaching Lab is for you if:
✔️ You lead a team or team function and something just isn’t working the way you’d like.
✔️ You're navigating a communication, collaboration, accountability, role, or relationship challenge.
✔️ You lead projects or cross-functional work and need to create alignment even when you don't have formal authority.
✔️ Your team isn't necessarily struggling—but you know there are opportunities to work together more effectively.
✔️ You'd value an experienced coach's perspective and the insight of a small group of other leaders who understand how complicated teams can be.
You don't need to have direct reports.
If you're responsible for helping a group of people work well together, this Lab is designed for you.
How will the coaching work?
Each participant will receive dedicated spotlight coaching time, while also learning from the challenges and perspectives brought by the other leaders in the room.
You should choose a team challenge that you can describe clearly and one that you are comfortable getting feedback from others in the group.

Meet Your Executive Coach
Hi, I'm Dr. Bethany Peters 👋🏻
I'm an executive and leadership coach, facilitator, and founder of The Leadership Coaching Lab.
With a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and more than 20 years of experience spanning leadership, higher education, coaching, and team development, I've spent a lot of time helping leaders make sense of the human side of work.
And if there's one thing I know about teams, it's this:
There usually isn't one simple answer.
Good team leadership requires being able to slow down, see what's really happening, ask better questions, and choose an intervention that fits the people and situation in front of you.
That's the kind of thinking we'll practice in Team Momentum.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A Coaching Lab is a small, collaborative space where research meets real-world leadership.
Rather than simply learning about a leadership topic, you'll have the opportunity to bring your own experience into the conversation, test ideas, get coaching, and identify strategies you can actually use.
-
No. You might manage direct reports, lead a project team, coordinate cross-functional work, or simply be responsible for helping a group work effectively together.
If you're in a position to influence how people work together, you're welcome.
-
Almost anything you're genuinely trying to figure out.
Communication. Accountability. Conflict. Roles. Engagement. Meetings. Decision-making. Workload. Collaboration. Trust. Different working styles.
You don't need to diagnose the problem before you arrive. But I would highly recommend to focus on one key challenge rather than trying to solve everything 😊
-
I'll send you a short reflection before the Lab to help you identify the team situation you'd most like to explore. No assessments or extensive prework are required.
-
The Lab is intentionally limited to 3-4 participants so that everyone has dedicated spotlight time, around 15 minutes for each person. We'll also learn collaboratively from each person's situation, so you'll benefit from the entire 90-minute conversation—not just your own coaching segment.
-
The session will be recorded in order to generate a detailed AI summary for those who attend.
Because participants will be discussing real team situations and confidentiality matters, the recording and transcript will not be shared with participants.
-
For this specific program, due to the small number of spots, there are no refunds, except for exceptional cases such as medical emergencies.
