You want to lead conversations that help your people grow.

But somewhere between the meeting invite and the actual conversation, you default to giving the answer.

You've read the books. You've taken the training. You really believe that the best leaders coach.

That they ask before they tell. That they develop their people instead of doing the work for them.

And yet- when your team member walks in with a problem, the answer's already forming in your mouth. When you're behind on your week, coaching feels like a luxury you can't afford. When the stakes are high, you grab the nearest solution and move on.

Here’s the disconnect — knowing coaching is the right move and actually coaching in the moment are two very different things.

You don't need more theory or another certification. You need an honest look at your coaching habits, and the strategic space to see what needs to shift.

You need a clearer picture of your coaching patterns — and the awareness to know what needs to pivot.

Who is this for?

✦ You've read the books, taken the trainings, but you still find yourself giving the answer when you meant to ask the question.

✦ You can tell when a conversation needs coaching, but you're not always sure what to do in the moment.

✦ You've had moments where coaching has clicked — and you'd love to make those moments less accidental.

✦ You're a consultant or coach with a more directive style and you want to practice the shift to coaching-mode.

✦ You're a little skeptical that LEGO® bricks have anything to do with coaching — but you're curious enough to find out.

Important Notes:

Bring your own bricks. The lab price does not include the cost of LEGO® bricks.

No specific kit and no LEGO® skills required — you can use bricks you already have at home, borrow some from a friend, or pick up a simple kit like this one a few days before the session.

The sequence of our 2-hour session:

The Foundation

We start by surfacing the coaching habits you're already practicing.

The Patterns

We’ll get specific about the conditions that make great coaching possible.

The Barriers

You’ll name the puzzle pieces- the habits, fears, and pressures that pull you out of coaching mode.

The Shift

You leave with one specific shift to practice in your next conversation.

Meet Your Executive Coach

I'm Dr. Bethany Peters, and I help leaders develop the coaching mindset that fosters growth, innovation, and lasting change 👋🏻

Having coached leaders across industries and at all levels, I know more is needed than a simple training or framework to make the shift from directing to coaching. You need an honest look at how you’re already showing up, space to practice, and peers to inspire and inform you.

Coaching Skills for Leaders uses a creative medium — the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology — to help you see your coaching habits, name what's getting in the way, and leave with one specific shift you want to make.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • A Coaching Lab is a fusion of learning, coaching, and growth where research meets real-world leadership.

It is a reflective, collaborative space designed to slow down and experiment—building awareness, testing ideas, and making new strategies stick.

We’ll be doing a mix of learning, individual work, and group discussion.

  • No. This lab is designed to be useful whether you're a leader who's just starting to take a coach approach, a manager who's done coaching trainings before, a consultant shifting into coaching mode, or a new coach experimenting with your own approach. The methodology meets you where you are.

  • LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is a research-backed methodology developed at MIT and the LEGO Group — used by NASA, Google, and Harvard Business School. It's not a gimmick. It's a structured way to surface what our analytical minds can't quite articulate.

When you build a model of how you coach, your hands externalize what your head can't name. Patterns become visible. Insights stick. You don't need to be artistic — just willing to build.

  • Not at all. The first 20 minutes of the lab are dedicated to skills-building so everyone gets comfortable with the method. There are no wrong answers, no artistic skill required — just the willingness to build and share.

  • LEGO® bricks are not provided for the workshop. A basic LEGO® brick set works perfectly. I'll send a recommended kit link in your registration confirmation, with enough lead time to order. Plan to have your bricks ready by the day of the lab.

  • No. This is a 2-hour developmental lab, not a credentialing program. You'll leave with sharper self-awareness about how you coach and one specific shift to practice — not a certificate.

  • Because this is a small group, collaborative environment designed for real-time insights, I recommend attending live. However, the session will be recorded, and all participants will receive the replay.

  • For this specific program, there are no refunds, except for exceptional cases such as medical emergencies.

  • Email my team and me at bethany@theleadershipcoachinglab.com and we’d be happy to help.
